Introduce the Vitality of Feng Shui into Your Yard

As far as the size of your yard goes, it is not especially important when incorporating feng shui design to it. It is great to have a huge space to work with, but do not worry if the area is small since you can still introduce feng shui design.

The same tools you employ to introduce feng shui design into your house can be used in the garden. In order to learn the energy map, or bagua, of your garden, you will first want to understand your home’s bagua.

It is also essential to know the five elements in the theory of feng shui and how best to use each one to make the most of its energy.

The Earth element, for example, should be located in the northeast part of your garden which connects to the personal growth and self-cultivation energy in feng shui design. The ideal addition to the northeast corner of your yard might be a serene Zen garden decorated with natural stone, as they represent the Earth element in feng shui.

Consider incorporating a water feature into these feng shui areas: East (health & family), North (career & path in life), or Southeast (money and abundance).

The Simplest Way to Create the Perfect Haven Indoors or Out

One good way to create a peaceful and serene area is to set up a feng shui fountain. A garden or home waterfall is the ideal solution. It will certainly add a lot to the interior and exterior of your home. Be sure to set up your outdoor fountain so that it is noticeable from inside in order to get the most out of it.

Make sure to include some beautiful flowers and plants, as they enhance any water fountain. Look for plant types that blossom year-round. The area will be further enhanced with small adornments like art, a fire pit, or attractive stones.

A True Roman Marvel: The Santa Maria Fountain in Cosmedin

Archaeologists and restorers on the lookout for pagan and Christian antiquities in Rome have stumbled upon a treasure trove of them in the area of the Santa Maria in Cosmedin. Located in the portico of the nearby basilica one can see the famous marble sculpture known as the Bocca della Verità (Mouth of Truth). When the Santa Maria in Cosmedin fountain was created in 1719, it was off the beaten track and generally unknown as a result. Since the nearby area was depressing and mostly abandoned, visitors were not particularly interested in visiting it. It was a this time that Pope Clement XI mandated the Italian architect Carlo Bizzaccheri to put up a water fountain to renovate the square outside the church of Santa Maria in Cosmedin. Work on the church's foundation started on on August 11, 1717. The first stone to be placed in the foundation was consecrated and medals bearing the illustrations of the Blessed Virgin, for whom the church is named, and St. John the Baptist, the patron saint of water, were also thrown in.
