Incorporate the Benefit of Feng Shui into Your Backyard

Experience the health benefits of feng shui by adding its design elements into your yard.

As far as the size of your garden goes, it is not especially important when introducing feng shui design to it. A sizeable area is great for those lucky enough to have it, but a more compact area can still be useful in feng shui design.

Feng shui tools are the same whether you are working in your garden or your home. Your yard's bagua, or energy map, is an extension of your house's bagua, so it is essential to figure out your home’s first.

It is also essential to know the five elements in the theory of feng shui and how best to use each one to make the most of its energy.

The northeast corner of your garden, for instance, connects to personal growth and self-cultivation energy, and Earth is the feng shui element that is essential to integrate it. Since rocks epitomize the Earth element in feng shui, you might consider putting some into a serene Zen garden in the northeast corner of your yard.

A water element is a great addition to the following feng shui areas: Southeast (money & abundance), East (health & family), and North (career & path in life).

The Easiest Way to Design the Perfect Haven Indoors or Out

Incorporating a feng shui fountain in your living area is certain to add to creating a sense of harmony and serenity. This can be accomplished rather quickly with a garden or home waterfall.

The perfect addition to your decor is this type of feature. Install your outdoor fountain where you can see it from inside the house as well.

Be sure to add plants and flowers, as they have an important effect on the charm of a water fountain. Look for plant types that thrive throughout the year. In addition, consider including other elements such as an outdoor fireplace, art, or pretty rocks.
